Truth About Skin Care Products
May 15 | 6 – 8 PM
Our 2019 Self-Care Series Seminars continues in May with Tracy Land, owner of Frangipani Body Products. Join us or the Truth About Skin Care Products. Tracy will address three key areas:
1. How skin care products emulate the food we put in our bodies.
2. How to spot unhelpful ingredients that lurk in your skin care products.
3. What skin care ingredients you want to have in your body/ skin care products.
Tracy’s love of self and skin care began early. “When I was a teenager, my family knew Sunday evenings were my official “Spa Nights”. In 2008, she started Frangipani as a way of offering safer skin care products to people who wanted better options for skin care products.

We’re so excited to have Jane Yip with us this week. Her work through Indian Brain Mapping and Autism Parent Care is amazing and remarkable. We can’t wait for you to meet her and hear what she has to say about mental health.
While we take physical health seriously like eating right and exercising, we seldom think about mental health. We take it for granted yet when pressured, we have a tendency to blame external circumstances rather than looking inward for sources of lack of adjustment. Simply stated, this approach doesn’t work.
You will learn:
- What is mental health and why it’s important to maintain it.
- The steps in maintaining mental health.
- Symptoms indicating help is needed.
- How can we help ourselves.
Jane Yip is a neuroscience graduate from Australia with completed post-doctoral work at Eli Lilly-Indianapolis. She has published peer review articles on several brain disorders including depression, schizophrenia and autism. In addition, she is a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA).

Since 2004, this unique recognition is given to the best performing lingerie specialty stores in North America by a professional jury composed of both domestic and international famous lingerie brands.
The Best of Intima Awards recognizes the achievements of independent lingerie retailers from the United States and Canada, honoring best practices within the intimate apparel, beachwear and loungewear retail industry. Shops are nominated for a variety of reasons, such as product knowledge, fitting expertise, customer service, and unique sales abilities.
“To be nominated is a tremendous honor for anyone; and, to be included in our first year of business is an exciting and humbling nod to our creativity and commitment to the industry” says Carla Mackie, owner of Uplift. “Working in the intimate apparel industry for 13 years, I have enjoyed these past 18 months being a business owner. Uplift Intimate Apparel is the melding of all I’ve learned in the industry. It is the vehicle that allows me to serve women (and men) in a meaningful way,” says Carla. This nomination puts Uplift and Carmel, Indiana on the world intimate apparel map. Globally recognized best practices and products are available to woman right here in their local area.

Support Restored and Eliminate Sex Trafficking!
February 20th | 6:30 – 8:00 pm
Restored Inc. provides services, outreach, and education to young girls between the ages of 11-24 whom have been victimized by domestic sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. They work to raise awareness and provide education and advocacy in the hope of ending human sex trafficking throughout Indiana.
It’s a big calling! And we here at Uplift Intimate Apparel want to be part of the solution!
Back in February, we hosted an informational session at Uplift. Tracy McDaniel, Founder & CEO of Restored Inc., spoke about the reality of domestic sex trafficking, online safety and what YOU can do about it! The key word here is YOU – that means ALL OF US! For this event, we asked for donations of Target and Walmart gift cards that could be given to the girls to shop for items that they need. These girls come from environments where there is no power to choose. They have been stripped of all dignity. These gift cards give them the ability to make selections, purchase items they pick. It’s part of the restoration process and so very important.
