Have you ever thought about what truly brings you joy?
Recently, I had a few experiences where I thought, “This… this brings me joy.” Not the obvious things like family and friends—though they’re precious—but that pure, simple joy that bubbles up from everyday moments. The more I thought about it, the more I realized “I’m living a life of joy, and this could be defined as “GET TO’s.”
- I GET TO change women’s lives one bra at a time.
At Uplift we serve women and help them find their true, confident self. [In case you’ve never worn a bra, being in something that doesn’t fit and/or is uncomfortable, can absolutely ruin one’s self esteem and confidence].
I GET TO be an instrument of change for the better. - I GET TO engage with people from all different walks of life.
Because of Uplift, I am involved in numerous networking opportunities. This gives me the chance to meet a variety of different people. My circle of friends is expanded.
I GET TO learn and grow. - I GET TO travel to places and in ways I never imagined.
In January I’ll be heading to Paris, France to meet with some of the greatest intimate apparel design houses in the world. This annual trip is for business yet seriously, we’re in Paris!
I GET TO work and spend time with some of the most talented people in the the intimate apparel industry in the most beautiful city (to me) in the world. - I GET TO share my passion of serving women well with my grandchildren.
From the beginning, Uplift has been a labor of love that pulled in my whole family. As my grandchildren grow, they each have spent time working with me in the shop. Is this their passion? Probably not. However, we are making memories that we GET TO share with one another.
Whether you call it “joy” or ‘GET TO’s,’ I hope you’ll slow down this holiday season and reflect on yours. Family is right there at the top of the list, of course- but what else fills your heart? What do you GET TO do?
Until we meet again behind the curtain, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, and Happy New Year.
Love, Carla
